Founding and Early History:
Here we will see about the Tiruvadavoor temple built by the Pandya king. A 2000-year-old Shiva temple is located at Tiruvadavoor near Melur in Madurai district. Lord Shiva graces us here with Thirughara Nayaki in the name of Thirughara Nadar.
Healing Properties and Rituals:
Devotees believe that people suffering from rheumatism and other rheumatic diseases will get cured if they come and worship him. It is also noted that Bini Peeda is famous in India for the auspiciousness of children and marriage.
After the prayers are fulfilled, the devotees anoint the Swami with milk, water, sandalwood, and essential oil. Ambal is worshiped with new clothes and a sari.

Manikkavasakar and Temple Construction:
Due to his devotion to Lord Shiva, he used the gold coins given by the king to build a temple in the town called Avudaiyar Kovil. A temple has been built in Tiruvadavoor for such a special Manikkavasagar, and pujas are being conducted.
A short walk away from Swayambu Thirumeni with the gurish-encrusted Swayambu Thirumeni, there is an east-facing temple with a five-tiered Rajagopuram. This temple is the temple where Lord Thirupayanath resides. In front of this, there is also a pond. Ithala Eason preached the meaning of the secret to Tirumal. He is known as Thirubhayanathar.
Description of the Temple:
Lord Thirumal, Brahman, Lord Agni, Lord Vayu, and Lord Shani are worshiped along with Swayambu Thirumeni, which is covered with cow's milk. Arana Valli blesses Ambika in the east-facing shrine. This ambal is also given the name Thirugara Nayaki.
